this is my third of reports delivering weekly to all Fantasy Premier League fans. In this part I present you my 3 players choices for upcoming gameweek, which I believe can reward us with high returns.
First of them is a Captain – in my opinion the most important thing in FPL. You can do everything right, but if you fail with captain choice almost always the red arrows will appear next to your overall ranking postition. Basically this choice should and will be also my own choice for my team, but sometimes I just won’t have the best candidate in my line-up.
Second choice is a ‘secret weapon’, a player you should definitely consider to you line-up. This won’t be always big name, I’ll try to find someone who caught my eye in the past gameweeks but didn’t get reward, which means that points will come hopefully soon. This will be more long term choice rather than single gameweek ‘Ace’, someone with huge impact on his team, good numbers and decent fixtures.
Third choice is ‘niche‘, a differential pick with overall ownership less than 5%. This should help you to differentiate your team form the template, also from your mini-league rivals and often turn your eye to someone who is worth having because of his points to price ratio.

This is my players selection for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 33:
- CAPTAIN – Mohamed Salah (Liverpool vs Aston Villa)
Aston Villa is the worst defence in the league, either overall and away from home. Salah just said that he desires to win the golden boot 3th time in a row. So there won’t be such a good opportunity this season anymore. James Milner is injured so Mo Salah is also on penalties. Even against this terrible game vs City, The Egyptian was the best Liverpool player. What’s more they should be a little bit angry after City, so I expect Klopp to play a full strength line-up to bounce back and get back on the right track. This is what he said on his press conference: “We don’t give Premier League games as Christmas presents. We have to make sure that the best XI on that day are on the pitch. They are around, they are really close.”
- 2. Secret weapon – Riyad Mahrez (Southampton vs Manchester City)
Riyad Mahrez scored 2 goals and added 2 assists since Premier League restart. He is currently 4th highest scoring midfielder in FPL! and his price is only 8,5. He was rested vs Liverpool so there is a huge chance he’ll start w Southampton. I watched him vs Arsenal, Burnley & Chelsea and he looked very sharp, surely, he is in a good form. With City upcoming fixtures it’s a must to have at least two or even three City attacking assets, but because of Guradiola’s roulette it’s of course a little bit risky. It looks as he proved that Riyad doesn’t need a full game to deliver some FPL returns.
- 3. Niche – Phil Foden (Southampton vs Manchester City) 3.7% ownership
This guy is an extremely talented young star. If you’re looking for any budget option, he should be definitely the answer. David Silva retires after this season, so Guardiola has to introduce Foden into the team, has to give him more and more minutes. This is very comfortable situation when the title race is over, and he can play without big pressure on his shoulders: 4 goals and 1 assist is an unbelievable return for someone priced for 5,3 in FPL.
